Our story begins nineteen years ago in a small town in Ohio. What we didn’t know then was how important the Art class we had every afternoon would be for the business and relationship we would have later. After Sixteen years apart we reconnected based on that simple bond we made. Fast forwarding, to a family vacation in St. Louis(his hometown) last summer, comes an unsuspecting engagement in a beautiful setting at The St. Louis Art Museum. After touring the museum for about an hour Jeremey descends to one knee and presents a family heirloom and states, ” We started our life in Art class years ago but wanted to ask if you would spend the rest your life with me in an Art Museum, will you marry me?” We decided during rest our our vacation the best place for the wedding to take place would be at the Grand Basin in Forest Park.
Using our art background Malmey Studios was founded in 2010. We are a small studio that builds high quality movie props and custom made costumes as well as other types of fine Art. Our work has ranged from Creature Reacher Style costumes to generic superhero costumes to paintings and wall murals. Our latest work of art was a Samurnaut we were commissioned to do by independent comic publishers Unshaven Comics. We have been featured on many Internet websites such as CNNireport.com, Geekologie.com, Geektyrant.com, Obviouswinner.com among others. We have also appeared on Cleveland’s Fox 8, and Toledo 11 CBS morning show.
Finally our wedding approaches and our lives are coming full circle from a simple talent in high school to a business to support the dreams of a fan. Following the ceremony, we are planning to be wearing our sculpted Batman and Catwoman masks at the St. Louis Gateway Arch with our wedding attire for photographs. We invite you to check out our website and we welcome St. Louis in becoming a part of our day on April 28, 2012.
