Hey Guys and Gals

We took a little time off to get married and to do some work on our home. We have finished what we need to do and are ready to get back into action! As of June 1st we are making the costume for a Canadian friend of ours.We will be starting and posting all the progress here in our blog!

We are doing matching Earthworm Jim & Kim costumes. For those of you that had a Sega in the 90′s and watched Saturday Morning cartoons you will remember Earhtworm Jim for his kookie antics and wacky characters. Jim, a normal earthworm, has a special “super suit” fall from the sky and allows him to operate much like a human, with his “worm-part” acting as a head, and the suit acting as arms, body, and legs.Jim’s task is two-fold, he must evade the games many antagonists, who are after him because they want the suit back, and also rescue and protect Princess What’s-Her-Name from them. The game plays out with Jim eluding and defeating all enemies, and saving Princess-What’s-Her-Name. However, not only does she not return Jim’s affection, but she is also crushed by a random flying cow.

With that out of the way we will be going for a classic Jim, a HUGE muscle chest piece custom sculpted Head, Gloves and Feet! We will top the costume off with a white spandex suit, and custom made suspenders and holster.

Kim will be outfitted with a custom sculpted lady muscle chest and head, pink spandex suit, a blond wig, Purple Gloves and gold pearls! We will also top off this costume with custom made purple suspenders and holster

6/8/12 Quick update on the sculpt. Last night and today Mallit has been working on the Earthworm Jim Sculpt for the head, you can see in the pictures it is really starting to take shape. We started with an armature and some foam for the general shape, then the sculpting magic happened. Check it out.

(Update 6/13/12) – Just a small update to show you where the sculpt is at. It is really coming along. Mallie will prolly have it done Thursday, then its time to mold it! The next update i do will be finished sculpt pictures. I’m hoping to have the first pull done by Sunday but that may be a little ambitious. Anyway here are the pics of the new sculpt.

(Update 6/15/12) -

Ok, Its update time!!
Yesterday the sculpt got finished as promised. Mallie did a beautiful job on it and even added some texture. WOW! I am in love with this sculpt, I think this is one of my favorite we have ever done and it is HUGE, its something like 28-30 inch tall. So last night (against Mallie’s better judgement, which is usually right I might add) I decided to mold this Groovy sculpt. Well nearly 6 hours later a 50# bag of plaster some busted up fingers a broken and repaired corner and dug out clay we ended up with a very nice mold with no surface damage. Tonight i will spend some time spraying out the mold and getting it ready for the cast. In the mean time check out the finished sculpt and look at that detail, ooooooooooh detail!

We are still working very hard on this costume, Mallie has been sculpting the Muscle chest. This is just a rough sculpt as of now but she is pounding it out. Here is just a taste of what will be a full wrap complete latex muscle chest.

(Update 7/23/12)

Have not updated this in a while as the chest was being sulpted and the head was being molded but here we have a Huge Update. the Muscle chest has been sculpted and molded and is ready for latex, just to give you an idea of the size of this thing the bicepts are a whopping 25″ round!! As for the head we fainally got a good cast out so I trimmed it up and cut the area in the mouth out. This will get black mesh so you can not see the face but you have plenty of air and can see very well. The mask still needs a good paint job but I wanted to show off the mask to give you all a good idea of how massive this thing is!

(Update 8/5/12) Ok time for HUGE updates. We got the chest cast got the mold cleaned, these are prelim pic as the chest still needs to be seamed, foam added to the muscle tone, and painted. The head also still needs to be painted (still) but at least you can see what the 2 pieces look like together. Hope you guys like it.

Obviously the chest needs some trimming and the muscles need some foam to but it turned out pretty good! The perfect blend of unrefined cartoon muscle.

Not really an update as much of a fun little post. Here is your first glimps of Earthworm Kim’s Hair

(Update 8/20/12) Big update here, We finished up and painted Earthworm Kim’s Head. I guess you could say we were inspired by her hair. We stuck pretty close to the original design with just a few extra added touches. We added the eyeshadow above her eyes. We also could not resist adding her eyelashes earrings and bow, is’nt she beautiful? the Muscle chest is coming along we are reinforcing the muscles, and adding the closure to the back. We are also finishing up the hands and feet, pics to follow very soon. we are also finishing up the muscle sculpt up for Earthworm Kim’s body. That’s right, she gets her own sculpt. So stay tuned & check out a full 360 degree view of Kim’s Mask.

(Update 8/29/12) Ok its update time, We finally have an Earthworm Jim Mask to go with our Earthworm Kim mask, Now she wont be lonely. I think we should have realsed Earthworm Jim’s Mask first as he lacks the flash of his female counterpart. He has some nice tone to his paint and he has the additional back part to his head but thats about it. Anyway check out the full 360 View of EWJ’s Mug.
